Introductory Post
My Name’s Nathaniel P. Salvador. People call me Nathaniel, Anton (my nickname), or Nathan (not my name at all). I’m 20, study at the College of Fine Arts, UP Diliman.
I study Industrial Design. I love art. I draw, do street art, photograph, design, paint (occasionally). No one in my family is a visual artist. My dad’s a businessman, mom’s a Psychology teacher, both my brothers either took or are taking up Business Administration, my sister’s in Creative Writing, and my other sister says she wants to be a Biologist…she’s still in high school. So I guess me being an artist isn’t in my genes, I guess it comes from my fixation with creating something new (that may or may not be beautiful) and the enjoyment I get out of it. Idon’treallyknowforsure.
Another art form I’m in love with is music. I play guitar (I tend to be very geeky at times if you talk to me about guitar tech and stuff.). I DJ and produce electronic music. I compose and write songs (sometimes). I sing (only if you have a death wish). I’m in 3 bands (band 1, band 2, band 3). I have a solo project too. I listen to a lot of Post-Rock, I love how it has a very unencumbered, sub-conscious, and honest feeling to it.
I sleep a lot. I like taking naps. Sleeping in is the best kind of sleeping
I prefer speaking in English. Although studying in UP has forced me to speak tagalog more than I find comfortable at times.
I like the taste of energy drinks. Redbull and Pocari Sweat are my favorites. I prefer energy drinks over coffee, tea, soda, or anything else with caffeine in it.
I Rollerblade (or Aggressive Inline Skating). I’ve been doing it since I was about 10 and It’s the only ‘sport’ I’ve managed to keep practicing since.
I also started taking up Capoeira. I have a feeling I’ll be keeping that too. I enjoy it very much. I recieved my Capoeira name (Manso, meaning ‘meek’) under Sinha Bahia de Capoeira Philippines on July 26 2011.
I like reading. The weird thing about my reading habit is that I like to re-read my books and I very rarely buy a new book (unless it’s like super interesting). That’s why I have around 16 books that I’ve read at least 3 times each. Some of my books include: The Harry Potter series, Hellboy: On Earth as it is in Hell, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Life The Universe and Everything (I’m still looking for the 2 other books by Douglas Adams :|), Death by Powerpoint, and The Alchemist.
that’s it for now.
